iMac G5 Has Landed

My iMac G5 20" wide-screen computer arrived today! Took it out the box, plugged in the power cable, mouse, keyboard and ethernet cable and I was up and running. Pretty cool. Now I just gotta figure out how to use everything. Gonna have to be asking Gee Why how to do this and how to do that. I imported some pictures and started using iMovie. I don't have a iLink cable so I could not bring in the digital video stuff. That will have to wait.

iLink is Sony's firewire name aka IEEE 1394. I guess to cut costs one of these are no longer included with new Macs. I might have an extra 4-pin to 6-pin firewire cable. Got to check.

Pretty cool that it arrived early though I think your arrival date was severely conservative.

How was the unpackaging? Apple's stuff is boxed up very elegantly. Opening their boxes is an experience.

Your hives will go away now.

It was just one box. The monitor/cpu on the bottom with the keyboard, mouse, and remote control on top. Very elegant, just like a work of art.

I was just going with the date Apple gave me. I did change the date of my timer last week when I got the tracking number. Was supposed to come on Wednesday, but came in early. Yeah baby!
